The wife just took off for a week tooling around Germany and Austria with her mom. Sort of that mother/ daughter trip they had always talked about but never got to do. I am so excited for her. Although jealous at the same time. I really enjoyed Germany last summer for the World Cup but that was an entirely different kind of trip than the one's the wife and I take. One of the main reasons I married her was because of how much the both of us love to travel and more importantly the fact that we travel soooo well together. We always have a blast and are so easy going that the trials of modern travel don't bother us one bit.
I wish I was going with her this time but I guess I will just have to wait until the fall. We already have our Mediterranean cruise booked for Thanksgiving week. So very much looking forward to that trip....with my wife!

Recovered
I have finally recovered from the piss poor selection by Rafa and the lack luster display by my Reds this past Wednesday in the first leg of the CL semis. I am hoping Rafa will go out on Tuesday with the intent of actually playing players who can play and doubly, want to win.
For the life of me I am still trying to figure out why Zenden was on the field.
Incredible.

April showers* bring May flowers
So the saying goes. I will tell you this, if May doesn't get here soon enough my wife will undoubtedly maim herself or even worse me. Talk about seasonal affective disorder.
Despite working from home I have yet to have the cabin fever set in. I guess the recent travel for work has kept me even keel. Or perhaps the fact that I love the cold weather and snow....so what if it is April 11th and I am staring out my window at a 3-5 inch white out (and still coming down)
It will just make Spring and Summer that much more enjoyable, no?

Bring on Chelski!
Well, it is official...at least one English team will be in the finals of the Champions League. Chelski got their much needed late winner last night while ManUgh annihilated Roma 7-1 at home after losing 2-1 away last week. Watching that game you just felt so bad for Roma. It was one of those times where you wish they had "time-outs" in soccer. Roma needed one desperately 20mins in to the match. Both games were on at the same time so I kept flipping the telly back an forth (I was watching the Chelski v Valencia game since that outcome has the most affect on my Scousers) and every time I flipped back to the United/Roma game there seemed to have been another goal scored. It was ridiculous.
Now does that 7 goal blowout prove that United are the favorites of this competition? I don't think so. It just proves that the Italian Serie A-/B+ team shouldn't have been there in the first place. Although the pundits could say the same about PSV and that Liverpool has it just as easy. At least PSV are tops in their home league. I think Liverpool are still the favorites given they have the fire and quality of play of late that should push them through to the finals just like two years ago.
Although, this time with Garcia out for the season we'll need someone else to snatch a late winner at home to send us on to Athens. Come on Crouchie! Come on you REDS!!!

In form
Actually been home for two weeks so no time to post but back in the airports so thought I would jot down an inaudible scream!
COME ON YOU REDS!
My boys are in form lately and not a moment too late. With the Champions league upon us this is the best time of the year to hit on all cylinders. A 4-1 trouncing in the league of Arsenal to take 3rd place over (for good) and then a 3-0 pounding of PSV in Europe today has all but sealed our place in the Semi's. I will admit that PSV are not the Dutch goliaths they used to me and they haven't been playing well lately, but that shouldn't take away from the fact that Liverpool are jumping out of their skin with determination in Europe. With the 2nd leg at home in Anfield it is all but locked up.
I don't care who we face in the Semi's....I can just smell a 6th European Cup on the horizon.
